Only 50 copies pressed. Special 7”s to celebrate our Interpretations on F.C. Judd LP. The final copies are here.
You know the story of the LP.
The players invited: Chris Carter, Perc, Pye Corner Audio, Holly Herndon, Mordant Music, Peter Rehberg, Bandshell, Ekoplekz, The Boats, Leyland Kirby, Karen Gwyer and Ian Helliwell.
The last name on that list may need a little introduction. Sound artist, musician, machine inventor, film-maker, lecturer, author, radio presenter and crucially for us, curator of 2012’s Judd retrospective Electronics Without Tears. So important to Public Information is Ian Helliwell, we asked him to create a crashed out, freaked out 45rpm collage of the Interpretations LP. We present the results here, now. Over to you, Mr. Helliwell, in his own words...
"Retuned - A collage sampler assembled as a taster for the Interpretations on F.C. Judd compilation, featuring extracts from the contributors collaged together with Helliwell's radios, Helliceiver and reel to reel tape loops."
Recorded at Top Flat, 59 Ship Street, Brighton, March 2013.
Fascinating chat with Mr. Concretism. Great to hear about his synths and software and the track by track analysis of The Concretism Archive vol.1 adds to the listening experience - more of that sort of thing please! Infinite Tapes
